Hindbag & SSMI Touch New Heights.

Pierre Monnier, a student attending Toulouse Business School in France (2014) had to study "How to develop business for an existing organization."

We had already started on the journey. He set up a company named Hindbag in 2015.

From 100 tote bags to starting new lines NewCo with organic fabrics the journey has been interesting and new roads to achieve targets have been traversed.

The target is not only to meet the market demands the target is to see how many women and other artisans can get their livelihood from the project. Year on year we have raised the bar together.

Today Hindbag places orders worth 65 lakhs per month. This month we cross70 lakhs.

The Social enterprise was set up to encourage women livelihoods and the profits to help SSMI run the free school for 1000 students.

Crafting Futures India

Creating livelihoods, learning design and introducing sustainable natural products in block printing was the essence of the project funded by British Council in partnership with GoldSmith College, University of London. “A journey of learning how to create new design for 10 women.”

Due to CoVid the project took a turn and went online. The online design workshops conducted by Ms. Sandra Fruebing impacted the team in a big way. 10 Women associated with SSMI of urban poverty sat with laptops and smart board to interact with Sandra who patiently took them on a six-week journey. The product range developed gave a sense of pride and the confidence that we could make something very new & original.
