Hand block printing has a long and rich history in India and at SSMI you can enjoy a morning learning about the basics of block printing from our skilled artisans. You will design and print your own products to take home.

SSMI social tour
Life can be a daily struggle for many in Delhi. SSMI runs regular social tours to help raise awareness of the reality facing many under-privileged people and showcase our work.
The tour starts in one of our community kitchens in a local slum, followed by a trip to SSMI’s campus to see our school, meet teachers and pupils, observe women artisans at work and visit our block printing studio. The tour finishes with a delicious vegetarian lunch prepared by the women of SSMI’s staff canteen.
- Tours run from 9am-1pm and cost INR 1000 per person.

SSMI ART STUDIO
SSMI Art Studio is all about creating an enabling environment for children, a place without grades or criticism. Our weekly workshops aim to expose SSMI students to the world of contemporary art and to put them out of their comfort zone to a certain degree, which helps them to see new ways to create. Every child in our studio has a unique personality and they all have different challenges to overcome. We try to support them in this uneasy transformation to confident, free and self-reflecting artists. We believe that in their individuality lies their artistic strength and with a little bit of encouragement, every single one of them is capable to tell us their amazing stories.
